You can rent an apartment in Tbilisi within three days if you understand how the local market works. It differs a lot from both European and Russian practice. Here is the whole journey step by step, with numbers and pitfalls.
Step 1. Budget with a reserve
On top of monthly rent, add a deposit (usually one month) and, if you go through an agent, a commission of 50-100% of a month. So moving into a $600 apartment takes $1200-1800 in cash. Utilities on top: $30-60 in summer, $100-150 in winter with heating.
Step 2. Monitor the right way
The main sources are SS.GE, MyHome.ge and Telegram channels. Good apartments go within hours, so the winner is not the one who searches longest but the one who calls first. Step 3. Call, do not text
